Given the current economic climate, the NHS has begun implementing budget cuts, which will result in stricter eligibility criteria for the Non -Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) As a consequence, a greater number of patients will no longer qualify for NHS funded transport and will be expected to arrange their own travel to and from hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, nursing homes and private hospitals are currently incurring high costs by using regular ambulances for patient transport, even though many of these patients are ambulatory or able to travel in wheelchairs. This highlights the need for more cost-effective and appropriately matched transport solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
